Scott McCowan from Kilmarnock training for team GB at the Paralympics

In 2011 the Blackwood Foundation launched the first social media site in the UK to tap into the ingenuity of disabled people as experts on independent living.

The award winning site gives disabled people a unique platform to share tips and ideas on independent living and offers the opportunity to connect them with designers, helping drive innovation in products and technologies designed for disabled people.

We supported Edinburgh based social enterprise the Blackwood Foundation to develop their social media strategy and launched the Bespoken social media site to press.

Berry Red PR also delivers media relations, copywriting and training to parent charity Margaret Blackwood Housing Association helping them to make the most of their communications. We supported Blackwood to manage a major rebrandĀ and continue to work with them to help create a positive image of disabled people in the media.
